Matt Daher In-Depth
Matt Daher is the lead attorney for CAA's Texas cases, handling direct appeals, Article 11.07 writs of habeas corpus, and federal writs. With over 16 years of experience litigating criminal and civil cases in state and federal courts across the country, he brings relentless advocacy to every appeal he takes on.
Matt earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from the University of Utah. He is admitted to practice in Texas and Missouri state courts, as well as all four federal district courts in Texas and the District of Colorado.
A published author, Matt wrote Justice Lost, Justice Gained: How Five Texas Inmates Won Their 11.07 Appeals and the 109-page report "Inequality in the Texas Criminal Justice System," examining racial disparities throughout the Texas criminal justice system. His writing reflects the same commitment he brings to his clients: exposing injustice and fighting for those who deserve a second chance. He is based in Austin, Texas.
